Grill Grid

The classic grill in polished stainless steel offers the familiar grilling experience and a direct view of the embers. Expandable with another grill grid or a plancha, you have all the options and none of your guests will go hungry.

Plancha

The cast iron plate, also called plancha, makes grilling with charcoal or firewood healthier than ever before. Thanks to its continuous surface, it distributes the heat evenly and gently, making it the best choice for indirect grilling at high temperatures.

Sear Grate

The sear grate can be placed directly on the opening of the plancha ring and is ideal for searing food. If it gets too hot, you can move it further away from the flames on the height-adjustable holder or free up space on the holder for a wok pan.

Warming Ring

The warming ring simply sits on top of the sear grate to create even more space above the open flames, either as a surround for the cast iron grate, as a shelf around an iron skillet or on its own as a second grilling level to keep ready-to-eat treats at the optimum temperature or to gently prepare delicate grilled foods such as bread or vegetables.

FAQ

Which oil is best for grilling on the plancha?

For plancha grilling, a heat-resistant oil is essential to prevent sticking and ensure easy turning. Rapeseed oil, sesame oil, and peanut oil have proven effective – all offer high heat stability and unique flavors. Wagyū fat or special non-stick sprays are also ideal. Important: apply only a thin layer!

How to clean the plancha properly after grilling

After grilling, it's best to remove food residues while the plancha is still warm – using a heat-resistant, rounded spatula. Then clean with warm water and a sponge or brush. Avoid steel wool or wire brushes – they can damage the surface.

Tip: After cleaning, rub the plancha with a little heat-resistant oil. This protects against rust and builds a natural patina over time – a seasoned, non-stick layer.

How do I grill properly on the plancha?

Proper preparation is key: the grill plate must be fully preheated before placing any food on it. A thin layer of heat-resistant oil – ideally applied with a brush – ensures the best results.

Only turn the food when it releases easily from the surface. That’s when searing flavors are fully developed, and the meat stays juicy.

What is a patina on the plancha?

The patina is a natural, seasoned protective layer that builds up with regular use. It forms from burnt-in oils and fats, protects against rust, and improves the non-stick effect over time. In short: the more you grill, the better your plancha gets!

Can I combine the plancha with a grill grate?

Yes – for maximum flexibility, the plancha can be perfectly combined with a grill grate. You can, for example, pre-cook on the plancha and finish on the grate – ideal for creating different heat zones.

Important: To use the Sear Grate, you’ll need two planchas, as it sits across both sides.

Is the plancha compatible with older BOWL models?

Yes – all accessories and spare parts for the BOWL 57, including the plancha, are fully compatible with the previous BOWL model. You can upgrade your existing BOWL without missing out on new features.

How many people is the plancha suitable for?

The number of people depends on the size of the grilling surface and the type of food. Smaller items like vegetables or finger food require less space than large steaks.

With the BOWL 57 plancha, you can easily grill for up to 10 people. If you often cook for larger groups, the BOWL 70 is the better choice – it offers significantly more space.

If more guests show up spontaneously, just grill in rounds – the evenly heated plancha makes it fast and reliable. Our accessories like the Sear Grate or warming ring offer even more options with a second grilling level.

What do I need to use the Sear Grate?

To use the Sear Grate, you need two BOWL 57 Planchas. The grate is hooked into the opening between the two Planchas – hooking it into grill grates is not possible. The Sear Grate can be adjusted to four different heights.

What do I need to use the warming ring?

To use the warming ring, you need the Sear Grate accessory, as it is placed on its support ring, as well as the two Plancha halves. You don’t necessarily need to use the cast grate itself – the warming ring can also be hooked onto the support ring of the Sear Grate alone. This means the warming ring can also be adjusted to four different heights.
