SUMMER IN THE WIGGERL17
A summer party with fire
The Wiggerl17 is the heart project of my friend Johannes Semmler and me, Boris Rüther. In the center of Traunstein, right near the park, we were allowed to give a new face to a former toy store. The lovingly restored town house is exactly what we were looking for. A good place in beautiful surroundings where urban and alpine lifestyle meet. In the Wiggerl17 it is all about hospitality and pleasure, quality and aesthetics. Guided by our feeling and love for genuine craftwork, we have created a harmonious contrast of maple wood, natural stone, steel, warm tints and selected, old treasures. A sense of space which invites you to linger.
...why Wiggerl Siebzehn?
Again and again, the question as to the name arises. In Bavaria, Ludwig is fondly called Wiggerl and – as we are located in Ludwigstraße 17 – the only name possible for us was Wiggerl17.
Daily changing menu
We buy our coffee from befriended roasting houses all over Germany. Bread and cake come from the Chiemsee region and Traunstein. Ham, bresaola and salami are obtained from the Meran region. The fresh milk is supplied by mountain farmers and the spreads come from Amerang. We ferment and braise all vegetables ourselves… because it really tastes good and makes fun. The daily menu offers delicious and creative snacks and light meals as well as best confectionery and invites our guests to simply enjoy.
Magical days where the evening never ends
Our first summer last year started absolutely wonderful. With a view over the park, under the leaf canopy, friends met and lingered during hot days and balmy summer evenings. With the sliding doors open, inside and outside merged into one. At dusk, we lit the fire in CUBE, the SPINS and GRAVITY CANDLES. The open fire has a very special attraction and creates intimacy and warmth. On evenings like these, we now and then have a barbecue and grill small, but delicious food on CUBE in order to serve it with our snacks and light meals. The good bread, yoghurt butter and braised vegetables are served together with the grilled food and a cool wheat beer, Mondino Spritz, vermouth or Wadlbeißer round off a perfect evening near the fire. For us, these are magical days with never-ending evenings. This is summer, this is the Wiggerl17.
